Hello friends. We have some happy news, and some bum-out news. Let's start with the bum-out news... The record's been pushed back to the fall. I know, I know, we promised this summer but things have come up that can't be navigated around. We truly apologise for the delay but here's the upside: Now that we're not as rushed we're able to secure the producer we really want, take the time needed in the studio to get the best product recorded possible, and to mold the music into a more refined album. All songs are ready to go technically, but now we have more time to fine-tune them so the record can be as epic as it deserves to be. The album is still called After the Quake, it will have between 15-19 songs, and will be surf, punk, metal, flamenco, ska-esque. Also, we declined the contract presented to us by the distributer we had secured as it was very "major label," but we are in the process of signing with Half of Nothing Records- very indie, very family-style. Del Mar is very stoked to be part of the Half of Nothing family!

On the tour tip- we are still sporatically touring CA & NV this summer (just got back from the North Bay & Humboldt county, had a blast!) and will be touring up through Oregon & Washington July or August. More touring including the mid-West will be planned after the album has dropped. All legit promoters across the country are encouraged to contact us as we are doing this completely indie & could use the help.

Here's the best news of the day: Budgaugh.com is just two weeks away from launching. This is very exciting... Why, might you ask? Because it will serve as Bud's OFFICIAL SUBLIME WEBSITE. This means there will be rare Sublime shit, the (sort of) re-launch of sublimearchive.com, official Sublime chat board, Bud's personal blog & all kinds of cool shit. There are tons of cool people & dedicated fans across the country helping us gather the best shit for the site (special thanks to Tee & Dave, Chris & Zack from the Archive, Vince from Rewind Selector.) If anyone else has any rare footage, pics, bootlegs, whateva, please contact us through myspace so we can add it up. All contributors will be mentioned as "contributing editors" on the "THANK YOUS" page. Bud loves his fans and we are eternally greatful to all of you. When the website initially launches it will be a little on the skim side but take heart- we will be adding & updating often. An official announcement will be made once budgaugh.com launches.

Other ins & outs: Del Mar is contributing a surf instrumental track (unmastered & originally recorded for the pre-release) to thepier.org's annual summer sampler- big shout out to Phillip over at the Pier, he's a good guy. In other news, Bud & Nicole are expecting their first baby in November and they are very excited! The rest of Del Mar, maybe not so much. ;) This being said, their pregnancy isn't haulting any recording or future touring plans, so no worries.
